Interview with Anima we bised on animals with various needs

That: Our most important campaign and in fact the secret of stopping/abandoning animals, is the free campaign of animals from sterilization/castration of animals with and without a teacher, which began in 2014. The campaign has been uninterrupted since then and I must say that without the help of associations from abroad, this would not be possible. I say this, because financial support comes only from this direction, the Romanian state in our case and not only, not being such campaigns.
If I have to refer to the present moment of 2022, with the situation of refugees due to the war in Ukraine, I also started a campaign to help them financial support for the need to prepare animal documents, the distribution of food, medical support. All paid by our association.

Petmax: Where do most of the donations come from? Romania? Germany? Other countries?

A delicate topic, but without which we do not exist: financial support. Most of them come from abroad, from individuals and associations with which we collaborate, people who gave us the trust that we are transparent, who came to know each other and without which we could not exist so that anyone can be able to help. The Romanian state has not supported and does not support these associations in any way. Basically, every month Tremo that we will not have enough donations to pay the food and veterinarian costs, since the highest costs are. For some time, I have also noticed a discreet but firm involvement of those in Romania, who begin to understand our phenomenon and our work. And this is very happy and we thank everyone for the support.

Petmax: What should they know/understand that the efforts of the organizations decrease?

Anu: it is a question of changing an entire mentality of the Romanians, of this area: dogs linked to the bottom of the courtyard, multiply and drown the chicks, the legend that a bitch must be girls once and many others. Nor do we want animals on the streets, they suffer from hunger and diseases, to die tormented, that they become aggressive with people with primitive food needs or because they are attacked by people. The secret as I said before is the sterilization and arrest of abandonment and uncontrolled multiplication. Since 2013 we have laws that rigorously regulate these things, but they are not applied. Not at all, nowhere, of any authority. The animal police exist only on paper, without logistics, prepared people etc …

Petmax: Do you adopt various tactics seen in other countries that abandonment and the number of dogs on the streets decrease?

Anu: we have many ideas, people to implement them that we don’t have much. Education is the key, from the school. But this is also long -term, in the long term and involvement of the authorities not only of the NGOs on the field. When to do it, if we are a handful of people? The notion of volunteering assumed with all responsibility is still a chimera in Romania.

Petmax: Somehow outside it seems a struggle with the windmills, a struggle that will not end.

That: Yes, as I said above: we have laws, but they are not applied! We also have a bitter word: we cannot sterilize, since they can abandon! Every day we live this frustration and we have the feeling that we are like Sixif.

Petmax: Dogs in the shelters that will never be adopted? What would be the cause for which these dogs are not adopted?

That: Unfortunately yes, they are. And they remain with us until the end of life. There are multiple causes: they were psychically traumatized and/or physically when they were found and we tried to socialize them, this was their limit as optimists. Dogs beaten and arrive aggressively in this situation.

Petmax: Do you collaborate with dog trainers before giving adoption a dog?

That: Usually, no. The activity of volunteers also includes socialization for adoption. We organized walks with dogs, to be taught to go to a leash, to socialize with each other and with foreigners. Here we also receive the help of inclusive volunteers, who only help these occasional walks. And their help is precious and we thank them. We do not collaborate with the trainer, unfortunately it is too financially expensive for us, but we had isolated cases we called.

Petmax: Is there a particular dog model (age, color, life) that is easier to give for adoption?

That: When I started this beautiful and heavy adventure, I thought the most adoptable were the light fur. But over time we realized that not. Future adopting react very emotionally: it could resemble their former puppy who is no longer, perhaps the history of the animal is very sad and impressive, it could have a locomotor disability. But certainly the simplest reacts to the chickens. They have the highest chances of being adopted quickly. Otherwise, as they grow in Torches, the more the chances of adopting adults decrease. And in fact, black animals are more difficult to adopt because of prejudices: in cats because they are superstitious and in dogs they are not black. It’s sad …

Petmax: What are the plans for the future?

That: In these times we survive. We don’t have much courage to make plans, to think that we could increase our ability for example or to make new torche, new spaces. Unfortunately this is the truth. The lack of money and people make us remain for the moment what we can manage well and quantitatively. And I don’t think they are not very heavy months, when we are at the limit with money, when the accounts are almost empty and the invoices come. This sword is always above our heads, 11 years old!

Petmax: What do you need right now except for money? Building materials, volunteers, cars, etc.

That: Not only at this moment. The building materials are always welcome, for example, since the torche must be repaired every year, the chasions have changed periodically, improved. Ume we always use for cleaning, in winter bales for fans for cages. Now, for example, we have to make water in the tar. A great and constant lack are the volunteers. The hand of the people I told you is already tired after 11 years, unfortunately it is more difficult. Most have no weekend, holidays, any afternoon with their family. I know, many say it was our choice and let’s take, but a hand is always welcome. And cars leave us a few years because they work daily, guided by different people, enter the field to reach the Tars, etc. In fact, any help is welcome.

NGO volunteers do everything possible to help these animals. I work without financial premiums, give their small free time to these souls. We have the simplest task: first of all we are responsible, so we help these NGOs with what we can, as we can, at any time, at any time.
