It is the pet owner’s responsibility to provide proper food for his dog. Nutritional needs vary based on the breed, age, and life stage of the dog. The food must be high-quality and adequate for the dog’s breed and life stage.
It is not a good idea to let dogs graze on food all day. Adults should be given one meal per day (singular) or a maximum of two (morning and evening); puppies need more frequent meals. The owner must be well-informed about dog food and ensure that pets do not eat harmful items.

We all want to have a better bond with our dog. It is essential not to pull the leash, to come when called, and not to eat from the ground to prevent aggressive behavior. Training is how we learn to communicate well with our dog. Basic commands like sit, lie down, and wait are not just training activities but tools for our use. It is best to seek help from a professional trainer who uses positive reinforcement. We reward good behaviors and never punish the dog for mistakes. Harsh methods can be harmful, and the dog may lose trust in us.
Daily exercise is very important. A dog should not just be taken out to relieve itself. It needs at least 1 hour a day for walking, running, and most importantly, socializing with other dogs.

Since dogs rely on sight, they will always favor being in a semi-closed area. For dogs outside, a kennel is the best option. In winter or during rainy days, they can stay there, but in the summer, it is good for letting in sunlight.
For outdoor dogs, it’s best to provide a kennel with insulation in a sheltered location, placed so that the entrance is away from the wind. The entrance of the kennel should not be too large; it should fit the dog snugly. A big opening will allow cold air to enter. The kennel should not sit directly on the ground. It is better to have it elevated slightly. The entrance of the kennel should have a flap to stop the wind from getting in. Inside the kennel, there should be no old clothes, beds, cushions, or blankets. These will get wet and harm the dog. Instead, use clean and dry straw as bedding. They provide warmth, dry quickly, and can be changed as needed. The kennel should not be much larger than the dog’s size since this way warmth will escape from its body. However, it should not be too small either, so the dog feels cramped.
The kennel can also be used inside for dogs living in our homes to prevent behavioral issues or if the dog has separation anxiety. Picking the right size of the kennel is crucial. The dog should be able to stand comfortably and turn around. While most dogs prefer to sleep in their bed, some may want to sleep next to their owners.
