And even more, learn today the things that people who own these amazing animals should know A recently released study shows that cats, dogs, and other pets make us feel smaller and happier Now, in the middle of the year 2022, amidst economic, political, and environmental issues that affect many parts of the world, we still have reasons to be happy! It is not a secret that humans love their pets, but are they truly happier than a typical person (as I have already mentioned earlier in this article)? Thanks to all the pictures that pet owners take with their furry friends and share online, a new study has found that the answer is a big and kind yes!
In a worldwide review that used artificial intelligence, Petplan researchers (United Kingdom) discovered that pet owners across the globe are much happier than those in the neighborhood who do not have pets. In fact, the findings of this recently released study showed that having pets increases overall happiness by more than 22% on an international scale.
Our smiles in the pictures say it all!
A team from a British company (focused on caring for and studying pets of all kinds) used the Microsoft Azure facial recognition tool to look at over 250,000 pictures (including selfies) of pet owners on social media and Google images throughout this research. This allowed them to measure how much happiness people feel when they have a pet by their side, no matter where they live.
Specifically, the researchers looked at pictures of dog, cat, and rabbit owners in every OECD (organization for economic cooperation and development). The people involved in this special project found each photo by searching for certain hashtags related to the pet’s name, selfie, or other relevant keywords. The tool from Microsoft Azure identified levels of emotions in clear pictures with human faces, showing every feeling on a scale from 0 to 100.

Do not make these errors in the care of your dog’s dental healthWhat do pets add to our lives?
Have you ever thought about how our lives change as individuals when we welcome these amazing creatures into our homes? Petplan researchers mention that having pets greatly helps to enhance a person’s well-being. The British group states that pet owners often become fitter and healthier, especially dog owners who regularly walk their pets. This also provides them chances to meet new friends and enjoy the company of their furry pals.
The group adds that pet owners can notice improvements in their mental health, and their daily schedules may become more structured, sometimes even leading to new hobbies.
Of course, choosing a pet and bringing it into your home is a serious responsibility. Researchers say that anyone thinking about getting a pet should think about the time, money, and care they can give to their new friend.
But what are the duties of a pet owner today?
If you are currently caring for a pet (or getting ready to), it is crucial to reflect on whether you provide the best life for your friend, whether they have fur or feathers.

The essential role of supplements in the daily diet of catsYou need to look after your pet, but it is also a privilege – treat it like one:
Exercise and play
Some pets require more exercise than others. Dogs usually need a lot of outdoor time, from walks to play in the park, to release extra energy. For cats, it means keeping an eye on and engaging with specific toys.
Find toys in the store, playsets, and cat supplies!
Veterinary visits
This is vital to keep your dog or cat in good shape. A check-up also allows the chance to catch any health issues before they turn into serious problems. A vet will check your pet to ensure it is well.

Being a responsible pet owner means being considerate of others. Whenever your pet goes outside, be sure to promptly clean up any messes made during walks or in the yard. Not only are they unpleasant to see, but they can also be harmful germs that may affect others and other animals nearby.
Spaying or neutering
Sadly, there are more pets in shelters than in homes where they can be cared for and cherished. Spaying or neutering your pet can help lower the number of animals entering shelters or being put down, and it also has many health benefits that can help dogs and cats lead a joyful and healthy life!
- Give their love
When you welcome a pet into your house, you gain another family member. These animals provide endless and constant love in return for just a bit of your time. It is our duty to make sure we respect and give them love every day, looking after them, ensuring their well-being, and providing them with treats, toys, and affection!
