Friendship and socialization?
The results are largely compliant with previous research. In general, pet owners consider friendly dogs and cats such as … neurotic.

The European study found that 85% of dogs have a friendship with their master, compared to only 49% for cats. And cats are more likely to ignore dogs than the contrary.

However, 64% of dogs and «interrogated» cats are played together (at least sometimes).

The owners said that, therefore, their dogs were more friendly than the cats with the people they knew: 96% of dogs, compared to only 79% for cats, were friendly with family people. The owners also described that cats are more likely to be interested in foreigners or frightened by them. The dogs were also more friendly with strangers than cats (51% compared to only 29%).

When it was members of the same species, 84% of dogs were friendly with well -known dogs and 36% were friendly with unknown dogs. This contrasts with cats: only 49% were friendly with well -known cats and 10% friendly with unknown cats.

Just over 64% of cats and dogs living together were played together; 58% followed and 41% fought. Almost two thirds of pets sometimes «penetrate» the other. And almost 44% of cats sometimes played with the dog’s tail.

Are there stereotypes about dogs?
This study confirms the widespread faith that has declared that dogs are generally more ousted and that cats are more … distant. This is probably due to the fact that the dogs (historically speaking) have been domesticated for a longer time than cats.
